Student Point: Counselling and Support for Students in One Place
19.03.2026
Student Point, located under the Aula of the Slovak University of Agriculture (SUA), is the first contact point for SUA students. It brings together study and social counselling, career support, provides information for international students, and offers guidance on mobility opportunities — all in one place.
Student Point has been operating at SUA since 24 February 2026 and unifies the counselling and support services of the University Counselling and Support Centre (UCSC) so that students can find answers in one location and reach the right specialists directly. Students can quickly book an appointment through an online reservation form on the website https://poradenstvo.uniag.sk/en/, where they choose the type of counselling, date, and the staff member who will assist them. The system is clear and saves students time. The goal is for students to get answers to their questions and leave with the feeling that they are not alone.
Studies
Advisors explain how the study plan works, including credits, schedules, continuous and final assessment, and help with administrative tasks. They assist students with managing an individual study plan, interruption of studies, course recognition, and guide them on how to properly prepare and submit applications.
Career
Career counselling is designed for students who want to explore their options and prepare for entering the job market. It offers support in finding internships, traineeships, or a first job. Students receive help with creating a CV, writing a motivation letter, and preparing for interviews. SUA is also developing the Centre for Engineering Practice, which connects students with companies and institutions. It provides support in choosing a workplace, communicating with employers, and handling the administrative aspects of professional placements. The aim is to link theory with practice during studies.
Social Support
With the help of advisors, students can better understand the available social support tools. At the Student Registry located right next to Student Point, they can get information on social and maternity scholarships, the application process, and required documents. Advisors also explain options related to student loans and help students take the necessary steps to obtain them.
Internationalization
Student Point connects students with the International Centre operating under the Office of International Relations and Educational Programmes. Students learn how to arrange a study stay or internship abroad and receive guidance on choosing suitable mobility opportunities. They are provided with instructions regarding documents, deadlines, course recognition rules, and recommendations on how to plan mobility so that it aligns smoothly with their home studies.
International students can get all necessary information on how to begin their studies at SUA, what documents they need to prepare, and who to contact at each stage of their mobility.
Mental Health
Student Point also directs students to psychological support. The counselling room providing pedagogical-psychological assistance is located at the Mladosť Student Dormitory, as close to students as possible. Here they can safely talk about anxiety, stress, decreased motivation, relationship problems, or other difficulties. They will find understanding, confidentiality, support, and together with the counsellor, identify concrete steps to restore balance. As part of comprehensive services, counselling in effective learning and support for students with specific needs is also offered.
The provision of counselling and support services is carried out with the support of the AgroForestry Consortium, established within the POO Measure — Support for the Strategic Development of Higher Education Institutions — as part of the activity Harmonisation and Integration in the Field of Student Counselling and Support
