One of the key objectives of the INVEST project is to connect universities with regional stakeholders, public institutions, cultural organizations, the business sector, and the community to support the sustainable development of regions in a broader social, cultural, and creative context. In this spirit, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) is establishing cooperation with the prestigious International Theatre festival Divadelná Nitra.
On February 10, 2026, a working meeting of the International Theatre festival Divadelná Nitra staff was held dedicated to the preparation of the upcoming International Theatre festival. Members of the organizing team discussed the dramaturgical focus of the festival, organizational arrangements, and the main activities of the upcoming edition. Another important topic of the meeting was the planned partnership between the International Theatre festival Divadelná Nitra 2026 and SUA, which represents a concrete outcome of the INVEST project's activities at the regional level. The university plans to actively participate in the preparation, organization, and implementation of the festival, thereby strengthening its presence in the creative and cultural sectors and supporting interdisciplinary cooperation.
The coordinator of the INVEST project at SPU, Prof. JUDr. Lucia Palšová, PhD., said on this occasion: "The INVEST project aims to connect the university with the region and its key players. Cooperation with the International Theatre festival Divadelná Nitra is an opportunity for us to develop the university not only in the academic field, but also in the cultural and creative space, to involve students in real projects and to contribute to the dynamic development of the city and the region."
The specific forms of cooperation between SUA and the International Theatre festival Divadelná Nitra will be finalized and presented in the coming period. It is expected that students, teachers, and the wider public will be involved in the festival's activities, as well as joint events aimed at connecting culture, education, and regional development.
The meeting confirmed the shared ambition to build a long-term partnership that will contribute to strengthening cultural life in Nitra and at the same time support the fulfillment of the goals of the INVEST project — an open, connected, and socially responsible European university.
